IT DON’T COME EASY – RINGO STARR – LYRICS

[Intro]
It don’t come easy
You know it don’t come easy
It don’t come easy
You know it don’t come easy
[Chorus 1]
Got to pay your dues if you wanna sing the blues
And you know it don’t come easy
You don’t have to shout or leap about
You can even play them easy[Verse 1]
Forget about the past and all your sorrows
The future won’t last
It will soon be over tomorrow
[Chorus 2]
I don’t ask for much, I only want trust
And you know it don’t come easy

And this love of mine keeps growing all the time
And you know it just ain’t easy

[Verse 2]
Open up your heart, let’s come together
Use a little love
And we will make it work out better

[Chorus 1]
Got to pay your dues if you wanna sing the blues
And you know it don’t come easy
You don’t have to shout or leap about
You can even play them easy

[Verse 3]
Peace, remember peace is how we make it
Here within your reach
If you’re big enough to take it

[Chorus 2]
I don’t ask for much, I only want trust
And you know it don’t come easy

And this love of mine keeps growing all the time
And you know it don’t come easy

Thoughts on Ringo Starr’s “It Don’t Come Easy”

Back in the grinding days of my entrepreneurial journey this song was
my theme song.   I had a cassette tape of this song, and I wore it out
I can remember playing it over and over after driving 3 hours home
from an appointment that stood me up.  Knowing I would be getting
home at two in the morning and knowing I had to be up and at work
the next morning at 7:42.

I would get a few hours sleep and get up, go to work, and do it all
over again.  But every now and then I had the opportunity to sit
around a kitchen table and share an opportunity with a person who
was sincerely ready to make a change in their life.  Someone who
was willing to expand their comfort zone, grow as a person and
set themselves free from the 9-5.  Those times, and those people
made it all worth it.

It Don’t Come Easy was on the radio when I was about 10 years old.
Honestly, at my home all that was every played was Gospel and
Country Music.  But i do remember hearing It Don’t Come Easy as
young man.   It is really the first popular hit song I remember from
my childhood.   I am not sure if that is good or bad?

I am not sure if that song programmed my mind to make the journey
harder than it needed to be, but I know when thing for sure.  IT KEPT
ME IN THE GAME!

What is going to keep you in the entrepreneurial game?  Especially during
the grind stage, that all businesses must go through?

I think this is a real challenge for young entrepreneurs today.  They see
people where they are, but they don’t understand what it really took for
them to get there.  The amount of work, dedication & disappointments
and personal education.

Social media is full of fake entrepreneurs who are trying to teach
people how to do, that which they have never done.  Even sadder for
me are those who have found the right mentor, who know what they want,
but are not willing to put forth the consistent action it takes to build a life
where you can sing the blues, or sing whatever song you choose, because
you have made it.

Find the right opportunity
Find the right mentor
and PAY YOUR DUES!

Consistent Effort Doesn't Always
Create Consistent Results, but
It Always Creates Success

PS Remember what Ringo said
“You don’t have to shout or leap about”

So many companies today, especially in the home business market
seem more interest in getting people excited by having them dance
and sing at events.

For me real excitement and real lasting motivation comes from wisdom
of the ages success principles internalized and consistent activities in
the market place.  Not Rah Rah sessions at conventions.    That is why
I always tell those hiring me to speak. If you are look for a speaker that
will not challenge your teams, I am not your guy.
